It was Napoleon III who asked Mr Adolphe Alphand the Mr « Green Haussmann » to create the Bois de Vincennes in order to enable the residents from the 12th and 13th arrondissements of paris to relax and enjoy walks in the park on Sundays.
For the Universal exhibition (world fair) held in 1867, a real Swiss Chalet was build right in the middle of the Vincennes Park, on the Reuilly island. At the time, it was the place to be where people could dance on Sundays and have a drink. Today, the place has been changed to a modern café with a nice terrasse. • Budget : 30-60€/ Menus 36€ to 158€. The place also hosts a large choice of events such as : Weddings, hen nights, cocktails, exhibitions, christmas parties, new years eve, student parties, conferences, fashion shows, trainings, product launches, political meetings etc.
